SPEC-01 ORIGINAL MODELS

The mark of a SPEC special.

Dobuita. SPEC★01. Limited special pieces, in runs of 10–15, individually finished by an embroiderer. Japanese satin or velveteen, with care for the pattern and sewing.

Why “Dobuita” in katakana?

The owner chose this lettering to evoke accounts of US military customers requesting names in Japanese katakana on souvenir jackets. It expresses a connection to Dobuita on the chest of SPEC special models.

The meaning behind SPEC.

The name SPEC takes its inspiration from military specifications. For the owner, it expresses a commitment to making and to “Dobuita quality.” The chest lettering marks a special design commissioned by SPEC☆01.

This is the owner’s account of the name and embroidery; it does not indicate military certification.
